I am writing to you as one of your constituents, deeply alarmed by the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

This is not about religion or politics. It is about fundamental human rights, the denial of food, water, medical care, and safety to over two million people. Children are dying of hunger. Civilians are being killed while seeking aid. Hospitals and clinics have been bombed. Medical workers have died while trying to save lives. Homes, schools, and shelters have been destroyed.

As of 28 July 2025, over 59,900 Palestinians have been killed and more than 145,000 injured, including many women and children. Starvation and malnutrition have claimed at least 147 lives, among them 88 children. Over 800 attacks on healthcare facilities have been recorded. These conditions are unprecedented and unacceptable.

These are not accidental tragedies, but the result of deliberate policies, blockades, forced displacement, and assaults on medical infrastructure, which violate international humanitarian law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention. The International Court of Justice has deemed the risk of genocide plausible. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for named Israeli officials on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Millions across the UK and around the world are demanding action. We are horrified. We will not forget silence.

Britain has a proud history of defending human rights and justice under the rule of law. These principles must now compel us to act.

The UK government has expressed support for humanitarian organisations, condemned certain actions, and suspended some arms exports. However, words alone are not enough.

I urge you to demand the following:

• A permanent ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza
• Immediate suspension of all UK arms exports and military components linked to the conflict
• Official recognition of Palestinian statehood as part of a just peace process
• Sanctions and accountability for breaches of international law
• Full UK support for investigations by the UN and ICC into war crimes and the use of starvation as a weapon
• Immediate medical evacuation and assistance for children and civilians in critical need
• Safe and independent operation of humanitarian aid agencies
• Unrestricted access for journalists reporting from Gaza


This is not a conflict of sides. It is a question of conscience.

Please raise these demands in Parliament, and urge the Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister to uphold Britain’s legal and moral obligations.
