This is How Fascism Starts ⚠️
Fascism doesn’t start with dictators — it starts with everyday conversations that normalise hate, fear, and control:
👉 What is Fascism?
Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian political system that thrives on:
✅ Extreme nationalism
✅ Scapegoating minorities
✅ Glorifying a “mythical past”
✅ Rejecting democracy and civil rights
✅ Crushing dissent and controlling information
⭐️ It often starts with small, familiar comments that seem harmless at first — but they lay the groundwork for dangerous ideas.
🔸 When people say things like:
➡️ “Immigrants are ruining this country.”
➡️ “We need a strong leader to fix everything.”
➡️ “We should go back to the way things used to be.”
➡️ “Free speech is dead."
👉 These aren’t just opinions, they’re signs of fascist thinking creeping into everyday life.
👀 Everyday Scapegoating and Division
This is how people are manipulated into turning against each other:
👉 Scapegoating and Division:
“Immigrants are taking all our jobs.”
“Our culture is under attack — we need to protect it.
“Schools need to teach patriotic values, not liberal propaganda”
“We should just deport all of them.”
“Minorities are the ones committing all the crimes.”
💡 These comments create an “us vs. them” mentality. They make you think that certain groups are to blame for society’s problems — even when the real issues are deeper and more complex.
🛑 Dividing people makes it easier to control them. If you’re busy blaming others, you won’t question who’s really benefiting from the chaos.
The Push for Control
After people are divided, the next step is to justify stronger control:
👉 Authoritarianism and Control:
“We need a leader who isn’t afraid to break the rules.
“Military service should be mandatory, it’ll toughen people up.”
“A strong leader should have the power to bypass the courts if necessary.
“Political correctness is making us weak, we need to stop caring about people’s feelings.”
Fear makes people willing to give up their freedoms for the promise of safety and strength. This is how authoritarianism takes hold.
👉 Suppression of Truth and Dissent:
“The media is lying to us — you can’t trust them.”
“Schools are brainwashing kids with woke propaganda.”
“We should stop teaching about race and colonialism — it just divides people.”
💡 Shutting down opposing views and controlling information makes it easier to manipulate people — and harder for them to push back.
🇬🇧 The “Good Old Days” Myth 🇬🇧
The final step? Selling the idea that things were better in the past — and that we need to go back to it:
👉 Nationalism and Mythmaking:
“Our country was once the greatest — we need to make it that way again.
“British values are being erased by Foreign influences, corrupting our culture.
“Our country was founded on Christian values — we need to get back to that.”
“Modern culture is weak — we need to toughen up.”
💡 Fascism thrives on nostalgia for a “better past” that often erases the realities of inequality and oppression. It frames the past as pure and moral — and the present as corrupt and weak.
But this isn’t about pride — it’s about control.
When people long for a mythical past, they’re more likely to accept dangerous policies to “restore” it.
🛑 Don’t let these ideas take hold. Call them out. Stay aware.
